Doctors

Dr. Lehua Maloney, DVM

Dr Lehua Maloney was born and raised on the Big island of Hawaii. Growing up in a rural area with chickens, dogs, cats and a horse, Dr Maloney was home-schooled from Jr high through high school, then went to the University of Hawaii for her undergraduate education. Having always had a passion for the medical sciences, Dr Maloney intended to go to medical school, but was moved to apply for veterinary school due to her love of animals. She was accepted to the University of Minnesota DVM Class of 2007. The winter of 2003 was her very first! She did not intend to stay in Minnesota but ended up finding Dave, her life partner, who is well rooted in the area. On her free time, Dr Maloney enjoys exploring the woods with her poodle Lola, dog training, horseback riding, cooking and visiting her parents in Hawaii once a year.

Dr Maloney started out as an associate at Winona Veterinary Hospital after graduation, then spent three years traveling and working in Oregon in Wisconsin. She returned to Winona Vet Hospital in 2012 as a partner. Her passions are Canine Reproduction and Surgery, especially orthopedic surgery. She is currently pursuing her American Board of Veterinary Practitioners Certification and is looking forward to providing modern, compassionate care to the people and pets of Winona for many years to come!
